In 1967, the founding members decided to transform a scrap piece of wasteland into the Otley Working Men’s Social Club. Those founding members with help of other volunteers collected donations from the people on Western Estate to help make the club a reality.
Finally in 1968, the club opened its doors for the first time, welcoming people from around the estate and beyond to join. Back then, the brewery was Vaux from Sunderland offering a small selection of beer and larger costing as little as one shilling a pint.
The club has continued to evolve and improve over the years with the help of members and now offers a broad range of drinks and entertainment.
